花蓮縣政府為積極推廣族語傳承，11月5日(六)上午10時，於本縣臺灣原住民族文化館舉辦第12屆原住民族語戲劇競賽花蓮初賽，共有8隊來自各部落、家庭、學校組隊參加，活動透過族語舞臺劇方式，賦予活潑輕快具有生活意涵的表演形式，不僅展現原住民族豐富精采生活，同時達到延續傳統文化之目的。
花蓮初賽有家庭組3隊、社會組3隊及學生組2隊共8隊參賽，包括5種族語別，演出內容非常豐富包括有部落生活、傳說故事及創新融合等劇情編寫，長輩與兒童皆以活潑對話與用心設計劇本，參賽者從最小1歲7個月到最年長87歲皆有，其中社會組及學生組皆有歷屆冠軍隊伍參賽，透過發揮創意劇情配合流利族語，經過上午精彩演出，家庭組優勝歡樂滿屋隊、社會組優勝Palimaay家族及學生組優勝太巴塱之子(太巴塱國小)，不負眾望奪得冠軍，將代表本縣參加全國決賽。
原民處陳建村處長表示，原住民族語言承載著各族群優美的文化與智慧，透過競賽的過程中達到推廣族語目標，更重要的是語言背後的文化價值，必須讓族語繼續發揚傳承下去，鼓勵各個家庭、部落、學校、教會及機關共同來推動，從家庭對話及日常生活開始，透過戲劇競賽鼓勵族語多元呈現方式，凝聚彼此情感、增進族人使用族語意願及對文化之認同。
陳建村處長說，原住民族語為國家語言，花蓮縣政府會持續努力推動族語保存與發展，保障原住民族語言傳承及使用，從家庭開始做起，讓族語能向下紮根，在此感謝為族語推廣付出所有的夥伴及參賽人員，今日特別邀請12位專家擔任評審，再次感謝本次初賽評審委員的辛勞，評審委員如下:專業評審田姈琋、余展輝及族語評審林茂德、朱珍靜、林震東、楊金池、林秋月、陳金龍、簡正雄、陳愛玉、余貞玉及林秋英。
